My passion for alternative and holistic therapies began whist training to be a Reflexologist in the Irish School of Herbal Medicine.  Here I interacted with students on the Master Herbalist programme, listening to their discussions around diet, herbal medicine and iridology in order to treat many illnesses. This really appealed to me.  It was then that I decided to go on and train to be a Master Herbalist and Iridologist in the school.  During my four years of training on the Master Herbalist programme, I undertook many hours of clinical training where I treated numerous clients alongside my fellow students using iridology as a diagnostic tool as well as nutritional therapy to treat clients.
Iridology refers to the process of assessing a client’s iris picture using an Iriscope.  The eyes are the ‘windows to your soul’ giving insight to the health of the colon, mind, reproductive system and many other organs and systems.
I gained valuable experience in treating many illness and discovered how dietary change, herbal medicine alongside alternative therapies can bring about many beneficial health benefits to people.  During that time I also studied to become a living food instructor, learning the amazing benefits a living food diet has, in bringing about healing, thereby speeding up the recovery process.
I trained to become a Colon Hydrotherapist in the Scottish School of Colon Hydrotherapy.  Colon Hydrotherapy can really assist in reducing the side effects of the detoxification process as well as the obvious benefit of treating constipation and many digestive problems.  The colon is a large organ which has the capacity to store old emotions and toxic waste which can make us feel very unwell.  Colon hydrotherapy enables the client to cleanse away years of toxins, emotions and waste from the body therefore, speeding up the healing process.  After a treatment many people report feelings of clarity, euphoria, self-belief and the ability to make significant changes in their life which they may not have been able to do in the past.
I believe in a common sense approach to health, small changes must be undertaken over time and regularly assessed in order to heal the body. Clients are less likely to ‘fall off the wagon’ if goals are achievable and noticeable results are attained.  After all, in most cases it has taken years to manifest an illness, it cannot be cured in a hurried or haphazard manor, clients must be willing to undertake ‘change’ in order to reap the benefits of a healthy body, mind and soul.
